Wattle Fencing

Pam and I want our Bleecker Mountain place to be unique.  We also want to return to traditional methods of doing things, many of which have been long forgotten by most of us.  One of my concerns is fencing.  How do we keep things in, or out?  Barbed wire works fine for horses and cows, but is pretty much useless for rabbits, skunks, and anything else less than a couple of feet tall.

I was surfing Al Gore's interwebs yesterday and stumbled on to wattle fencing on InspirationGreen.com.

It's got a nice, mouth breathing knuckle dragging quality to it, doesn't it?   One thing we're not lacking for here is sticks.  Or knuckle dragging.

On an unrelated note, those of you who have come here from our Drift Away blog probably remember the Navi-Nut (patent pending).   Kent Boatguy, our head of R&D, paid a visit yesterday.  He brought along an interested investor named Brad Rayberry.  Brad seems to think there are possible uses beyond navigation for our innovative product.

For what, I don't know.  But I suppose that considering how knuckle dragging cave men invented wattle fencing, modern man is clever enough to repurpose the Navi-Nut (patent pending) or perhaps even the Navi-WingNut (patent pending).

It was a good thing that Kent and Brad came to our Bleecker Mountain Corporate Retreat in a Jeep.  It's been raining to beat the band, and our "driveway" is only navigable by a 4x4 with a chart with a Navi-Nut (patent pending) with magnetic adhesion.

  1. We built a small (5x5x3' high) corner batten fence a few years ago. It was fun and tho not fancy, it's pleasing. It's beginning to break down at this point, but it was definitely a good project. Have fun...

    2. OMG--sure is! Thanks for pointing it out.

That tall vane in background is a mole chaser.. vibrations repel moles and also handy to see what the wind is doing from the kitchen window.
