A Laid Back Life in Florida

This is a typical day for retired folk in Florida, and when Pamela has a day off.

When it's 90 degrees, you swim and drink beer.

  1. I forgot -- did you decide to stay in Florida permanently? Will you return to upstate NY at some point?

    1. Yep, here permanently, except for an occasional trip north to visit friends, family, and Sasquatch. It's hot as hades here, but you don't have to shovel it.

  2. I'm sure it's hotter than it was in the Adirondacks. But, it was just as hot in the Mid Atlantic swamps as it gets here. And here, we get a breeze every damn day. Couldn't say that on the Chesapeake.

And it's hard to beat sailing a "Frosty" series in February when the ladies are in bikinis. Sweet! Should have moved here 20 yrs ago.

    1. Yep. Quite a few lookers and inquiries, but everyone seems to be intimidated by going off grid, and the cost of running power seems to scare them away. The right buyer will come along.

Off grid is simple with new construction. Half the cost of running power lines, and no monthly bill. We have friends in Meco who have done it, and solar technology is far better today when they did it years ago.
